Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes as required.
- Assist with menu planning, portion sizing, food costing, and supply monitoring and ordering.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas; assist in all kitchen areas when required.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas; operate dishwasher when required.
- Organize and manage buffets and banquets.
- Train new staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling when required.
- Complete deep cleaning of the kitchen per schedule set by chef or manager.
- Follow hotel policies and maintain a confidential, secure work area.
Requirements
- Cooking experience in hotel, restaurant, or institutional kitchen is an asset.
- Food Handler certification is preferred.
- Ability to work banquets, weekends, and busy service periods.
