Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes as required.
  • Assist with menu planning, portion sizing, food costing, and supply monitoring and ordering.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas; assist in all kitchen areas when required.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and inventory records for food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas; operate dishwasher when required.
  • Organize and manage buffets and banquets.
  • Train new staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling when required.
  • Complete deep cleaning of the kitchen per schedule set by chef or manager.
  • Follow hotel policies and maintain a confidential, secure work area.

Requirements

  • Cooking experience in hotel, restaurant, or institutional kitchen is an asset.
  • Food Handler certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work banquets, weekends, and busy service periods.
